UV LED Curing System

The Phoseon FIREFLY LED spot cure system, is a desk top instrument that generates a flood of high intensity, single peak wavelength of UV light for the curing of inks, coatings and adhesives. This desk top technology demonstrator enables OEMS to evaluate the performance of LED arrays in the curing of inks and materials over work areas.

The light source is an array of semiconductor light emitting diodes (LEDs) mounted using a unique, patent pending method, to create a high yet linear spread intensity of irradiation.

The instrument has been developed primarily to demonstrate the features and benefits of generating UV from LEDs rather than from conventional bulb technology for curing applications.

The LED array is built into a remote housing connected to the main instrument via an umbilical flexible hosting, supplying the necessary power, cooling and temperature sensing. This enables the array to be positioned close to the items being cured.

The main instrument houses the water cooling heat exchanger and pump, the necessary power supplies and a microprocessor board with display for the control of the LED intensity and switch-on times.
