New UV/ Visible Spot Curing System

As UK agents for EFOS, Jenton launched the all new EFOS Lite at RadTech99 in Berlin. This versatile, economical, small area curing system is ideal for use in manual precision medical device assembly environments.
The system has an ultra-small footprint and long lamplife, which saves both bench space and operating costs.
User changeable optical filters allow the units broad spectral output to be tailored to specific applications while protecting heat sensitive substrates. This gives the unit the versatility to cure a broad adhesive range. Filter changes are made externally without having to turn the unit off, enabling the test work to be carried out without having to wait for lamp cool/warm-up cycles.
The entry level EFOS Lite is the product of over a decade and a half of spot curing innovation.

It combines features from constant in-house R&D with years of custom requirements developed for clients. The EFOS Lite has a typical power output of 11,000mW/cm (320-480nm) and a bulb life of 2000 hours plus. EFOS also offers a wide variety of standard and custom optics and accessories to complement EFOS Lite, and most requirements.

traceability for
medical production

Traceability and repeatability are critical elements in the manufacturing of devices such as syringes and catheters, where rigorous certification and stringent quality controls must be met. The NEW EFOS NOVACURE/STEPCURE UV Spot Cure lamps address this requirement. Built in radiometers, calibrated to international standards, monitor lamp output and performance and control exposure time and intensity, via a patented process, to ensure that desired UV dose and intensity settings are maintained through an entire production run. Batch reports are possible via an RS232 connection and all machines on a line use the same calibration standard and are thus consistent with each other.

EIT New Compact Sensor

EIT Inc. has developed an all new UV monitoring sensor for high power UV curing applications. Previous UV sensors have been subject to solarisation and drift due to the harsh conditions in a UV lamp head and have proved unreliable. The NEW EIT Compact Sensor has shown output changes when exposed to a constant UV source of less than 2% over 6000 hours and thus can be used as a reliable indicator of arc lamp or reflector degradation in a production system. The Compact Sensor weighs less than 25g and measures approx15x15x12mm so it is easily fitted in the cure area or behind a reflector. Built-in electronics and filters send information about output in specific spectral ranges (UVA, UVB, UVC and UVV) to a controller which can signal an alarm if UV intensity falls below a preset limit.

eit compact sensor

Generally specified as a relative intensity monitor, the Compact Sensor can be calibrated by means of a Solatell Sola-Chek or similar to give actual readings in W/cm. The compact sensor will operate in constant temperatures up to 100C and a cooling/cleaning air purge connector is fitted.

JENTON launches new range of UV conveyors

Designed to accommodate a wide range of modular lampheads from major UV equipment manufacturers, the Cont-I-Cure range launched by Jenton International, is ideal for laboratory and production applications. Because lampheads can be changed so easily, laboratories can match UV cure conditions to their customers plant on one system. Lamps can be mounted on a lightshield assembly which is adjustable for focal height and to allow products of varying heights to pass underneath. The lamphead mounting brackets on this assembly can be easily changed to allow the use of lamps from different suppliers without requiring any adjustment to the lamphead position settings.

Cont-Cure conveyor

There are two derivatives:
The CC-hi conveyors are designed for lamp systems with bulb lengths up to 250mm, operating at powers up to 250 watts/cm.
The CC-lo conveyors are suitable for 500 watt flood lamps and elliptical reflector lamps with bulb lengths up to 200mm, operating at powers up to 75 watts/cm. Belt stop = lamp out interlocks are standard on CC-hi models.

Both derivatives can be specified for bench top or free standing operation. Lamp orientation can be adjusted by 90 degrees and lamp relative intensity monitors are available as an option. Belt widths, speed and even conveyor colour can be matched to customer specifications and all Cont-I-Cure conveyors are CE compliant.

New UV/Air disinfection systems from JENTON

Jenton are building on their experience in the UV Curing field with a range of low pressure Ultraviolet disinfection systems suitable for air, water and surface disinfection for medical devices, rooms and liquids. Jenton are working with universities and experienced partners in this field to supply both conventional and new technology systems. As a result of this collaboration, Jenton are launching the New Sterilair 2000 Room Sanitiser designed to circulate air continuously over UV lamps which will destroy airborne pathogens, bacterial odours and remove particles down to 4 microns in size. Applications vary from hospital rooms and aeroplanes to insect and plant breeding laboratories.
