Microwave-Powered Ultraviolet Curing/Drying System
|
|
Minimizes Infrared Heat for Flexible Operation and Reduced Maintenance Requirements

Now there's a microwave-powered ultraviolet (UV) curing/drying system that can meet your most demanding production requirements.
Compared to conventional
microwave-powered UV curing systems, the Nordson CoolWave system emits up to 30 percent less heat-generating infrared energy, provides a more geometrically accurate field of focus and requires far less
maintenance.
CoolWave systems are available in both 6 and 10 inch widths and are configurable to meet any cure width. The system provides virtually instant start-up for excellent productivity and
the lamp heads do not require mechanical shutters.A clear difference in reflector technology: rather than a conventional metal reflector, the CoolWave curing system includes a proprietary reflector
constructed of temperature-stable borosilicate glass with a dichroic coating as a standard feature.
CoolWave systems are available in both 6 and 10 inch widthsand are configurable to meet any
cure width.
Features and Benefits:
- Standard dichroic reflector prevents infrared waves from reflecting for cooler operation and enhanced reliability.
- Variable reflector technology allows the use of flood and focus outputs.
- Heat-stable borosilicate glass materials minimize cracking of the dichroic coating for
long service life.
- Positive air cooling reduces maintenance caused by overheated components.
- Fewer parts than conventional microwave-powered systems for reduced maintenance and
downtime.

A variety of features built into the CoolWave system deliver ease of maintenance and
long service life. A combination of the dichroic reflector and positive air cooling reduces maintenance caused by overheated components. The CoolWave curing/drying system has fewer parts than
conventional microwave-powered systems, and parts are easy to access and replace for reduced maintenance and downtime. You can rely on Nordson for all your ultraviolet curing requirements.
In
addition to advanced microwave-powered UV systems, Nordson designs and manufactures a complete line of electrode-powered ultraviolet curing systems. This includes positive air-cooled short- and
long-lamp systems in addition to water-cooled filtered systems. Nordson is a world leader in the development of UV curing/drying systems for industrial and graphic arts applications. The CoolWave is
available with a complete range of fully interchangeable mercury and metal halide lamp alternatives, offering the ultimate performance with all material chemistries.

The advanced reflector
technology provides several important benefits:
- The dichroic reflector does not reflect heat-generating infrared light
waves back to the substrate. The result is precisely focused UV light where you need it without the damaging infrared energy that is inherent to non-dichroic metal reflectors.
- The reflector materials are more heat stable than metal for a more geometrically accurate field of focus. In addition, the materials are harder and more
scratch-resistant than metal for ease of cleaning and longer service life.
- The variable reflector geometry allows focus and flood distributions.
