Sola-Check System

Flexible and technically superior solution for measuring UV lamps output with spectroradiometer readings. The Sola Scope accurately measures UV light in the range 240nm to 470nm with clear data on both the intensity and wavelength of the UV source. It can be used as a single key operation radiometer or as a high-powered analysis tool supporting graphical analysis.

Sola-Check

The ideal solution for measuring output from UV lamps with a highly sophisticated quality control tool. Can be used with probe locators to provide the perfect platform to achieve simple, accurate and repeatable checking of UV lamps. This technology has particular relevance in the printing, optical fibre and coatings industries where poor lamp performance costs money.

Calibrated and Traceable Measurement

Your Sola-Check provides you with lamp performance directly measured against characteristics established by the National Physical Laboratory. Calibration is fully traceable to the National Physical Laboratory

Powerful Upgrade Capabilities

The Sola-Check can be upgraded to become a full spectroradiometer with the addition of a Sola Manager user-interface.

Fibre Optic SpectroRadiometers

Light from a sample source is collected using a cosine receptor, lens or an integrating sphere and reaches the spectrometer via a fibre optic cable. The concave holographic grating focusses the diffracted light onto a linear CCD detector with 2048 pixels.

Real-time spectra
The Epp2000 is linked to a PC via the enhanced parallel port which provides data transfer rates of up to 2Mb/second. The CCD is scanned electronically in a few milliseconds and the resulting spectrum is displayed on the PC screen in real time by the powerful SpectraWiz software program which is included in the surprisingly low price.

High reliability
There are no moving parts - the holographic diffraction grating and the detector are fixed in position inside the sealed unit. This also contributes to the outstanding wavelength repeatability of 0.05nm

NIST traceable calibration
A NIST calibrated lamp is used in the factory to calibrate the response of the EPP2000. Measurements are provided in watts/metre squared, PAR, LUX.

Powerful Windows software
SpectraWiz is supplied free of charge with the Epp2000 range of instruments. This multi-purpose program displays irradiant power as Watts/metre (per nm), or moles/metre per second which is a photon dose rate with a PAR value (Photo-synthetic Active Radiation)..Illuminance can be measured in LUX units defined as lumen/metre /nm, or as footcandles (lumen/foot2)

Chromaticity diagram
For measurements in the visible region of
the spectrum, e.g. Coloured LEDs, the Chromaticity diagram is displayed with x, y values.

The CIE values can be conveniently stored and in a log file along with sample identity. The variable integration time from 4ms to more than 60 seconds produces high quality results from both weak and strong sources. Other features of the software enable mathematical data smoothing and signal averaging to reduce noise.

Fibre Optic Colour Measurement

This ‘new generation’ instrument offers exceptional performance and value for money. The EPP 2000C connects to a PC via a parallel port for fast data transfer. Using reverse optics’ the sample is illuminated with white light from the source. The light reflected or transmitted by the sample reaches the EPP2000C via a fibre optic cable. The concave holographic grating focuses the diffracted light directly onto a linear CCD detector which has 2048 pixels.

The modular system includes a long-life
Tungsten/Krypton light source and either an integrating sphere or a fibre optic reflectance probe. Wavelength scans are acquired in real-time by electronic scanning and with no moving parts the reliability and reproducibility are outstanding.

Small footprint
The small size of the unit will be welcomed by most laboratories where space is at a premium and the portability allows the instrument to be moved to more convenient locations.

Chromaticity Calculations

Screen view of SpectraWiz software showing display of the colour circle in real-time. The spectrum of a yellow/green surface is measured using the R400-7 reflectance probe. This 7-core fibre optic reflectance probe is normally mounted in the holder RPH1 to maintain an angle of 45 degrees to the sample and a distance of a few millimetres from the sample surface. The 100% reflectance value is set using the RS-50Halon-type reflectance standard. The sampling area is approx 6mm diameter and the reflectance spectra are displayed in real-time on the screen. An integrating sphere is also available for reflectance measurements.

Colour comparisons
The powerful SpectraWiz software provides the facility to save a standard colour to disk, and then to comparethe current sample with the standard. Results are displayed as CIE L*a*b* and Delta E.
